Even though the Christmas session is almost over for another year, we wanted to once again highlight our Christmas concerts. Christmas concerts are simply amazing! Kids are excited to perform and parents can’t wait to see everything their children have been working on. It is always incredible that students’ personalities shine through as they sing! Everyone puts their best foot forward and for a brief moment, you can actually hear peace on earth as you listen to those sweet little voices!
On Dec. 18 and 19, our Kindergarten classes had their Christmas concerts. They performed 5 songs and then participated in fun activities with their families afterwards. It was two truly special afternoons! Thank you to all of the parents and families for your support to make these special afternoons happen!
Thank you once again to Mme Pickering and Mme Pretzlaff for all of your hard work getting the students ready for the concerts this year. Thank you to all of the parents who supported our concerts from attending to helping with crowd control! Thank you to the teachers for your hard work and flexibility. And finally, to all of our students, thank you for bringing everyone some Christmas cheer through your singing, actions and acting.
Once again, here are the links to the Christmas concert videos:)
Working with you,
Mme Sauder & Mme Garneau
This week at CBN
Did you know?
Many of our classes are now using writer’s workshop to help students expand and improve their ability to write. Teachers had a professional development day in October to learn more about writer’s workshop and now many of our students are using writer’s workshop (in English and French) and the results are amazing! Students not only love writing but they also love sharing their writing with each other.
From the Office
After 31 years at Campbelltown, Mme Viney will be retiring on January 11! 31 years at one school...that is simply amazing!! She will be missed by staff, students and parents! We want to welcome Mme Vargas who will be replacing Mme Viney. Please be patient with her as she learns the ins and outs of her new job. We also welcome Mme Benoit who will be replacing Mme Vargas. Mme Benoit will be working with various students and classes to help support them as they learn.

Dear Grade 2 families,
I wanted to let you know that Mr. Ndahiro, who’s been at our school for many years, let us know this week that he will not be returning in January. As per Mr. Ndahiro’s request, as he did not want to upset the students, we are letting you know now so you can prepare your child during the break. We would ask you to talk to your child over the break. If you have questions about how to discuss this with your child, please feel free to contact our school counsellor, Mme Boswell at email@example.com.
Although we’re sorry to say goodbye to him, Mr. Ndahiro has decided to pursue new opportunities and challenges. We’re currently in the process of interviewing teachers for the vacant position, and we look forward to announcing the successful candidate soon. Mme Lovlin, who is a regular sub at our school, will be filling in for Mr. Ndahiro until we have a teacher in place.
We’re grateful for Mr. Ndahiro’s many contributions over the years and we know his students will miss seeing him each day. Please join me in wishing Mr. Ndahiro all the best as he leaves our school family.
Working with you,
Our grade 2 and 3 students will be going to the Canoë Volant on January 7. Thank you to the parent council for helping to support this French Cultural event! Here is a little bit about the festival which you can also attend as a family at the end of January.

Social Skills Groups
This month at school, I will be starting Superflex : A Superhero Social Thinking group with the Grade 2 students. Students will learn to use their super powers of flexible thinking to navigate tricky social situations and help students identify expected and unexpected behaviors. This program helps teach students about the importance of caring for themselves and others as well as learning respect for themselves and others. If you believe that your child may benefit from this group, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org .
