Take a Class to Support Your Child!

Canadian Parents for French (CPF)-Sherwood Park Public Chapter is proud to offer the French
for Immersion Parents Level 1 Course. 

This course was developed by CPF and Alberta Learning.  Its intent is to help parents of children in French Immersion to understand what and how their children are being taught and how parents can help their children with their homework. 

The course runs for eight weeks (16 hours) in a freindly, non-threatening environment.  No prior knowledge of French is required.  This course has been highly recommended by prior partiicipants.  All ECS and Grade 1 students at Campbelltown and OLPH have been given a copy of the registration form which is available in the school office.   

Many of our members have already taken this course.  We are prepared to offer French for Immersion Parents Level 2 if there is enough interest (minimum of 10 required).  The Level 2 course deals with the following:

    - More vocabulary (special occasions, the environment, geography, at the restaurant, and more)
    - More practice with pronunciation
    - Further exploration of grammar concepts
    - Additional hints, strategies and resources for immersion parents
    - Discussions about immersion through the middle and secondary school years

We are currently accepting registrations for Kindergarten for the 2010-2011 school year.

If your child will be five years old by March 1, 2011 you are eligible to enroll him or her in Kindergarten. Please feel free to drop by the school for a tour or to pick up a registration package. We hope to see you soon!
